On Thursday, January 12th, more than 30 volunteer instructors, ski and ride assistants, inside chaperones, equipment transporters and others devoted their afternoon to the ski and ride program offered at KES. Seasoned skiers and boarders enjoyed this fun-filled afternoon among school peers and volunteer coaches. Meanwhile, our novice skiers and boarders eagerly anticipated their first voyage on Ramshead’s Magic Carpet where volunteers cheered them on and introduced them to the downhill experience.
We are grateful to Killington and Pico Mountain Resort for offering reasonably priced season passes to KES students. We are grateful for our parents and community members for their willingness to purchase passes and locate equipment and ski attire for students in need, for devoting nine Thursday afternoons to the program, and for exercising flexibility with student groupings. This program, a vital part of our physical education program, encourages healthful exercise and builds community within our school population. It offers many of our students an opportunity to learn to ski and ride that they would not otherwise experience. We thank you ALL for helping to keep this KES Trailblazer tradition alive!
